It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery mid-clean.

It's extremely quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways with only one pass. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to remove dirt as well as pet hair and droppings easily. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the dual side brushes help to clean debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, isn't as good. The rotating mop spins at a high speed and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily cleaning up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a little more than other robots. This is useful when you're trying to get into tight corners or along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger objects like broken toys and books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tried. It is quieter and doesn't make more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to set up and performs well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum for mopping it is important to pay attention to this.

The X1 Omni's main draw is its massive dock, which doubles as a charging base and housing for two water tanks, a clean sink, and a 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.

The base also has a variety of control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot, or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two of the buttons to switch on a child lock which is a great touch for parents worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.

The Omni Omni like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to spot obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in recognizing objects.

The X1 can be prone to become stuck if it gets entangled in a blockage like the power cable that is draped over a rug. It will not work until you manually untangle it. This was a rare incident however, it was a bit frustrating because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert in its app.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during cleaning. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad, except that the mopping pad doesn't get washed or dried between uses. This can lead to mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a big difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also an impressive sight in an industry dominated by boxes.
