The X8 is still a decent vacuum on bare floors and can sling debris over its side brushes and into the 400ml dust bin with ease. The X8's tyres, despite having a circular shape, are very adept at grabbing corners and edges. Our tests showed that it was able to remove 90% of the fur on hard floors.

The mopping mode that is the basic one uses the same water reservoir as the vacuuming mode. This is ideal for spills that are not serious, but you cannot limit the amount of water that it uses. It's effective at picking up hair from pets. It has a higher rate of pick-up than the Roborock S7.

3. Miele RX2

Awarded for its quiet and efficient home appliances, Miele's RX2 robot vacuum comes with outstanding cleaning power, stunning design, and a great navigation. However, it does have a few operational oddities that keep it from ranking as the top overall smart robot vacuum.

The RX2 is equipped with a dual-sensor mapping technique that uses a LIDAR to map the space as well as a pair of 3D scanning cameras for detecting and eliminating obstacles (such as furniture legs or pet waste).
