Components

Upgrade components are the items that can make your weapons and armor more effective. Contrary to other products upgrades aren't destroyed when removed from an item.

The main purpose of upgrade components is to allow an item to be upgraded but they also serve other purposes. They can be stacked in order to increase the level of experience gained by upgrading existing equipment or weapons. They can also be forged to offer additional benefits. For instance, a specially created glyph can increase the chance of upgrading its target, and a boost upgrade will enhance the defense or attack attribute of a weapon or armor.

You can bind an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will display the upgrade components to which the item can be upgraded. You can also use the workbench to selecting an upgrade template. In either case, the item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components have been gathered.

Each component has a distinct experience multiplier that affects the amount of experience an item receives when it is upgraded with that component. Organic components, like, have a higher multiplier of experience than mechanical components. It is therefore best to upgrade using organic components until you reach the experience multiplier of the next rank of the weapon or gear, then switch to mechanical upgrades.

Each item comes with a maximum upgrade number that can be received. The number of upgrades available is determined by the upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade for the upgradeable item. Sets
