For example, you can decide to let the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the kitchen and living rooms but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are superb as the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only minor issue is that it can crash into walls and objects at a high speed, but just a glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and the obstacles it's run into or avoided.

The docking station features an LCD display that displays the time when maintenance is required, such as emptying debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the tank automatically, using a 600ml eufy solution.

The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to remove small hairs and other particles that other robotic hoovers cleaners may miss.

As with the other two Roborock models I've tested it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to helps it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by having a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they're an object that is a wall or a different surface. It then can alter its path automatically and clean around them without stumbling.

It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is striking, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which resumes the cleaning, a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to send the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin automatically refills.

The only issue I encountered in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. You can replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's not easy to remove the mount for manual washing. I've found any plush carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mount, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app lets you manage and set up these smart features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life and component maintenance. You'll have to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.

It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this list, but it's still not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-constructed. The mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors and in corners.
