If you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, your best option is probably one that is a hybrid. This category of bots typically includes a built-in water tank that allows them to vacuum and mop your house at the same time. They also have a number of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance, and even the capability to dry and wash mopping pads. They're costly at full retail but often come down in price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock produces some of our favorite robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ does not fail to impress. This is their least expensive auto vacuum cleaner-empty model, and although it doesn't have some of the premium features you'll find on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still a great choice if you're willing to sacrifice a bit to save some hundred dollars.

The Q5+ is remarkably gentle when it comes to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it a great choice for homes that have many furniture pieces. It's also extremely thorough when it comes to getting rid of dust bunnies which is an area where many cheaper robot vacuums fall short. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is superb as well, with only a few missing in corners and along walls.

The Q5+, like other Roborock products, can be controlled by a few buttons on the device, or via the Roborock App. Through the app, you can start and stop cleanings, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and adjust your home map, or re-label rooms.

If you choose to purchase the Q5+, it ships with a new auto-empty dock that's specifically designed to make the robot sweeper simple to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once in place the process of emptying the bin is relatively simple. It also comes with a large LCD display, which is nice to have when you're setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This feature isn't essential for most people but it can help to keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated, well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of vacuuming and mopping. Its design is among the best in the industry, but it's expensive.

It is a relatively small base station that looks beautiful and is able to be concealed when not in use. The station's main selling point is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, functions, and chores that other robots would leave to you. It can keep clean and dirty water and also electrolyze and warm the water. Most other robovacs will require this.

Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive and efficient, too. It's the only robovac that I've tried that does an excellent job of removing dirt from floors that aren't. And it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

However, the Freo X Ultra has its faults, especially in terms of navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren’t as reliable as other robot vacuums. This means that it could get stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms of the house. It's also not able to climb stairs like other models and isn't equipped with a docking station to create a cleaning zone for plush carpets.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need a vacuum robot that can do it all.

But if you want to save money or don't want to think about the limitations of this robotic There are many other great choices on the market, including a lot of eufy models for significantly less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and provides a similar in-app experience with more features like the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and a better overall vacuuming performance on bare floors and low and high-pile carpets.

Eufy, a Anker company is a long-standing leader of creating robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning power for hard and carpeted flooring, and a mopping function for a low cost. It's easy to set up, just snap one of the side brushes on, turn on and plug in the charging dock. The app takes you through the steps needed to connect it to Wi-Fi. After that, the G30 is ready to go. The dock should be located near an outlet with plenty of space to move.

The G30 is a compact device that measures 2.85 inches in height, meaning it is able to fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design is more modest than other models, with a sleek black finish and three physical buttons such as Auto Cleaning start/pause, Auto vacuum Cleaner Recharge and Spot Cleaning (which cleans the area in an arc for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform unscheduled cleaning.

The main aspect that sets the G30 apart from most competitors is the way it cleans. It makes use of a built-in map to create an image of non-movable objects that are in its path while retaining what it's cleaned and where it can't access. It automatically returns to the base to recharge, and then begins cleaning the area it left.

The elegant G30 has a few issues. The iRobot Roomba is more durable and has lower recurring costs. It charges faster, offers similar battery life and is more effective on bare flooring or carpet with a low pile. It comes with a larger dust bin, which doesn't require the same amount of emptying. It also has boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 is more affordable and simpler to maintain. Its smaller canister means it doesn't need to be emptied as frequently, and it has less difficulty handling bulky products like cereal.
