The D7 is the most powerful model in the Neato robotic vacuum line. It has excellent navigation capabilities and can be controlled via either the app or Alexa. The D7 unlike other robots who struggle to navigate without a map, utilizes advanced sensors and lasers to create an electronic map. You can set virtual "No Go" lines by simply clicking your finger. This means that the D7 will avoid areas where it should not go (without the necessity of barrier tape or towers).

The D7's cleaning performance is impressive. It can pick up an average of 99.8 percent of Cheerios scattered on the floor, which is a bit better than the Roomba i7+'s 94.6 percent and the Shark Ion R85's 100 percent. The D7 can also be able to move smoothly on both carpet and high-pile carpet.

Another feature that is great is the ability to choose between two different levels of cleaning. There's a 'Eco' mode that operates the vacuum quietly and prolongs the run time, while Turbo mode delivers an even more powerful clean. However Turbo mode operates at a high volume, which can be a problem when you're using the D7 while you're working or watching TV.

The D7 is among the few robots that can create and store multiple floor plans, which is ideal for multi-level homes. It also comes with a quick boost feature, which allows it to return to its base and recharge before continuing to clean. This is particularly useful when cleaning difficult areas. Neato's mobile application is easy to use and regularly updated with new features. This is one of the most affordable robots on the market for large carpets and pet hair.

2. Eufy RoboVac ElevenS

The Eufy 11S, like the Neato D7 is sleek and low-profile. This allows it to get under couches, beds, and coffee tables more easily than other robot vacuums. It also has some innovations that allow it to clean better and get to wherever you want it to go, like the no-go lines that you can draw on virtual maps to stop it from cleaning delicate areas such as pet bowls or bed. It also comes with the ability to auto-recharge and resume that, if it is unable to recharge its battery before it has finished cleaning, it will automatically return to its base to recharge it, and restart where it began.

The RoboVac 11S is more efficient than its predecessor and the RoboVac 30C, which is more eufy, and better than the ILIFE A4s and bObsweep Bob Pro in our tests. The dirt compartment is bigger and it has a longer battery time, and it can remove more debris on everything from floors that are bare to low and high-pile carpet. It is also better-built and more durable and incurs less recurring expenses, and maneuvers itself more efficiently.

This isn't the best vacuum and mop for pet hair robot vacuum for floors with no carpet but it's a good option for those with medium carpets and pets. It uses random navigation and sensors in its underbelly and bumper to navigate through obstacles. It's not as sophisticated as the mapping technology in other robots, but it does the job well enough and can get to nooks and crannies that other robots aren't able to reach. It comes with spin brushes to clean along walls, as well as a 0.6-liter dust bin. It comes with a range of premium features that are similar to those found in robots that cost twice more. It is a great option for first-time buyers, those upgrading from an entry-level model, and anyone looking to cut down on time spent cleaning.

This robot is equally home on bare floors as it is on carpet. Its suction strength of 2,000Pa is able to handle the toughest carpeting. It is able to remove pet hair from crevices and cracks even on floors with no carpet. It's built well, performs well and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands to operate hands-free. The battery is smaller than some of the other models we've tested, but it still has plenty of juice for the majority of homes.

The s7 can also function as a mopping robot. It comes with a 200ml water tank and mopping plates that easily attaches to the back of the robot. Simply add water and a microfiber cloth, and the s7 will begin mopping your floors. When the mopping process is completed it will return to its dock and shut off automatically.

The companion app is simple to use, and has a slick layout and plenty of features. You can draw a map of your home, set virtual boundary lines that the s7 will not cross, create 'no-go' zones, or simply tell it to clean a particular room. You can also look at its maintenance history, the current status and monitor its performance.

5. Neato Q5 Pro

The Neato Q5 Pro is a versatile robot vacuum that excels at cleaning bare floors. It also cleans up a good amount of dirt from both low and high-pile carpet. It feels impressively built, has a comprehensive range of navigation options and is simple to maintain. However it has a shorter maximum battery life than some other models and is subject to higher recurring costs.

The Q5 is among the slowest-moving robots we've examined, but it does have an efficient layout algorithm that doesn't require to be watched over after the first time it traverses a space. It begins by drawing an area, and then fills in the interior using the lines of a series. Once it's finished, it returns to its charging station or the base from which it started away from the base.

It did an excellent job of cleaning hardwood floors and removing at least 88% dirt off each test. It was a bit less successful on low and high carpet however it did better than the average unit. It also has mopping attachments to tackle wet spills, but we haven't tested this feature.

Its maneuverability, which is higher than average for a lidar robot, is that it can hit furniture or other obstacles with a gentle bump. Its navigation system is able to detect stairs and different floor levels, which is a nice feature that lets it efficiently navigate multi-story homes.
