3 Wheeled Buggies

A 3-wheeler is ideal for off-road walking & dealing with terrain from bumpy pavements to woodland tracks. They can also be easier to maneuver around kerbs than models with four wheels.

MadeForMums reviews editor Kath tried one of these three wheeler pushchairs-wheelers with her newborn and three year old, and put it through its paces on the tarmac and on tricky ground. You can read her full review here.

Stability

With four wheels and a center of gravity that's balanced by weight of your child in the seat, buggies with four wheels are generally considered to be more stable than triwheelers. Three-wheel buggies are worthwhile to consider as they are able to handle anything from rough terrain to busy streets.

When folded, three wheeler pushchairs-wheelers can be more bulky than four-wheeled buggies due to the single wheel on the front. Make sure the model you choose fits in the boot of your car and is able to be sat up if necessary. Some models can fold in one hand and stand on their own when collapsed, which will save space in car boot spaces that are smaller.
