Additionally, certain cylinders are available with extra features that can improve security further, such as anti-drill or anti-bump properties.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is the right size for your door, it must be measured accurately. The cylinder needs to be measured from the central screw hole to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, if there is one. If you cannot measure with the lock in position, you can remove it. It is important to avoid having a cylindrical lock that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it vulnerable to snapping lock attacks.

Most modern cylinders are constructed with bump and anti-drill features included in their design. These are designed to reduce the chances of an attack by causing the cylinder to rotate in an opposite direction. This will help to deflect the attack and ensure your doors are secure.

There are also cylinders that are designed to withstand snapping. This is a growing type of attack on cylinders, where the break line inside the lock is smashed using a special tool to snap off the front of the cylinder to allow the door to be opened. Spring Cassette

This spring cassette is found in the base plate of your door handle. It provides a sprung solution to return your multipoint lock handles back to their resting position after usage. Previously a lot of window handles replacement of this kind did not have a spring integrated into them, and as a result, they tend to droop or 'drop' once the window locking handles mechanism is disengaged. This simple feature is one of the best methods to correct this issue and is an effective way to keep your doors made of upvc from getting stuck in the open or closed position, as they are not always easy to close manually.

The spring cassettes were made to be used with a spring multipoint lock. They are not compatible with handles that aren't sprung and you'll have to cut a hole into your backplate for them to fit. They are sold as a single unit. They come with a square cut out that can accommodate an 8mm shaft.
