However, they have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to become stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate through rooms with a lot of people efficiently during our tests. Also, it doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of an area.

It's still a good deal, especially if your home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you want to save money. It's also very quiet and can be used while you are at work or school. The only thing it's missing that you can't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. And it's less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't stay on very well and can't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has self-emptying docks, however. And, if you have to, you can switch the mopping pad to a dry one in minutes.

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a sleek, compact package. It can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combination.

With a sleek, circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba than the competitors' compact models, this mop and robot vacuum with mop vacuum is among the most attractive designs in our reviews. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It has advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically empty the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and detect obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its competitors with premium features. It also has a front mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time however this was not completely foolproof in our tests, and was often confused with power cords or obstructions.

The vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has a feature called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas of the home based on how dirty those areas tend to be.

If you have a bigger home, it is worth selecting a model with a zones or spot cleaning modes. This allows you to tell the robot which area of your house needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice command. If you have a lot of furniture, a stairway mode is also useful. Additionally a recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to continue where it left off is great for busy families.

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you would imagine from its price. It has a great vacuuming performance and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with a single pad that uses an oscillating motion that cleans better than most of the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. It's also self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping which collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map.
