I've also noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which is useful for getting into tight corners and along baseboards. The front arms can be used to sweep larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys or books.

Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've tried. It doesn't produce the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming, and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can sometimes get so entangled with an obstruction, such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug--that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you free it. While this was rare however, it was a gruelling experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert in its application.

The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll have to manually switch between the two, which isn't too bad except for the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.

On the positive side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant change from the utilitarian black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome sight in a space that is dominated by clunky boxes and clunky models.
