The newest model from iRobot is its most advanced and has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score 100% in our testing due to a mix of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station and it boasts the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to use. It has an intuitive mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 still a loud unit. This can be a problem in the mornings before work, or during the night when you are trying to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, although it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally capable and more attractive. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful, but it's more expensive and make more noise.
