It's very quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways with only one sweep. Its suction motor of 8,000pa will quickly pick up sand, dirt and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets, and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.

The mopping performance, while still impressive, isn't as effective. The rotating mop spins at a high rate and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scrubbing up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arms extend out a bit more than other robots, which can be helpful to get into tight corners and on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger debris such as books and toys that have been damaged.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tested. It doesn't create the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for mopping, and is separate from the vacuum. It is simple to install, and it works well. However should you purchase this robot vacuum solely for mopping purposes it is important to pay attention to this.

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. However, it has some unique features which are worth a look. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its enormous dock that serves as the robot's charging base and housing for two water tanks, a sink for cleaning as well as the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.

The base also has a variety of buttons to control the system. These allow you to start a cleaning task, recall the robot, or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock which is a great option for parents concerned about children playing with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni will occasionally get caught up in an obstacle--such as a power cord draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and stops working until you remove it manually. Although this is not a common occurrence however, it was a gruelling experience when it did happen particularly since the X1 Omni does not come with an "stuck" status alert on its application.

Another issue that could be a problem is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during a cleaning session. You'll need to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't a big deal aside from the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a major departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing sight in a space that is dominated by bulky boxes and clunky models.
