WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boost in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item upgrader mod by 3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor item Level upgrade or weapons. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your gear. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that can be used to level up weapons and tools, armor and other items. They can be purchased by players from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool using an The button will show a preview of an item's next upgrade level, if there are enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and the current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Many locations have upgraders for their items, including the main Island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade item coupon and the possibility of obtaining an entirely new recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no item upgrader available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are available only via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit and a disadvantage.

In Season 3 the upgrade system has been altered a bit, with numerous new features added. Once a player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same Item level upgrade level, will cost less. This applies even if those items come from another set of equipment.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is account-wide. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

When upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a variety of options. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

The first thing to note is that crests can only be used on equipment that is of a particular rank, and each rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, depending on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't too complicated, but the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to get their gear up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests with care, since they only have one use. For instance it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the best equipment you have and keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to make. This is especially true for items like rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to benefit from the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
