World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades provide players with the ability to upgrade equipment that they already own. This can be done through any item upgrader NPC.

Generally, upgrades increase an item's main stats and provide extras depending on the item type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB Sorcs, or Goldwraps for caster builds.

Armour

Armour is one of the key things that keeps Link protected from damage in most situations. Although it cannot be upgraded like weapons, it is possible to improve its defence capabilities in various ways.

The basic idea of armour is to shield the person or animal from harm or injury, either from direct physical assault or from various dangers posed by the environment and activities. In the past, most armour was made of leather or item upgrader fabric, but metal protections were also employed in military applications, particularly like heavy cavalry and combat drones.

As with weapons, there are a number of ways in which armour can be upgraded, but most will require visiting one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has a unique level of upgrades and more will provide higher levels of protection, and requiring a higher cost in rupees and the materials needed to unlock.

First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been put in place and removed, they cannot be reverted unless you own another piece of gear with the same upgrade. You should only apply the most powerful upgrades to your equipment and ensure that you have the materials needed to complete them.

You can find the upgrades you require in a variety of places throughout Hyrule. These include shrines, merchants and even enemies. These are usually marked by an orange triangle or a gold circle and can be found in great numbers as you progress through. They may appear randomly but there is a chance that obtaining certain upgrades can trigger a quest that will reward you with even more.

It is also important to note that even though the amount of protection provided by each upgrade item varies but it's the same for all upgrades and will always be superior to nothing. This is because a full set of upgraded armour will grant you a high defense boost that will protect you from all kinds of attacks, excluding magic and makes it a formidable weapon for any class.

Weapons

If you want to make your guns truly unique, you can enhance them with a variety of special upgrades. These upgrades can increase damage or change the stats of the weapon to suit your particular build. They can also unlock new attachments, such as unique enchantments, various types of ammo, and aesthetic options.

To upgrade a weapon, you'll need to have an upgrade component in place and the item. The weapon must be at a minimum of a certain level to upgrade it. Most weapons can only accept a single upgrade.

Weapon upgrade components can be found scattered throughout the world, from enemies or from merchants. Upgrade components are made up of ingredients that you can slot into weapons, armors trinkets, gathering tools and trinkets to earn an attribute bonus. They require equipment to be of a certain level to be able to take the upgrade. They can be upgraded in the same manner as other items.

Upgrades are a mixture of Smithing Stones (a type of stone) and Runes. They can be used to boost the effectiveness of weapons and increase their scaling with other stats. These upgrades can be obtained from enemies in the open world, or from merchants. They can also be obtained through combat.

There are two NPCs that can upgrade your weapons: the Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub area and the Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor hub area. Both of these NPCs accept your Smithing Stones or Runes to upgrade your weapon.

It's important to prioritise upgrading your top-of-the-line items first, followed by the ones you won't replace soon. If you're planning on playing a melee build, for example, upgrade your weapon, then your chest and shoulders, then your feet and hands. The same principles apply to Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that some items may be better than others based on the style of play you prefer. Armour is no different, with some refining better than others.

Magic Items

A character can upgrade only one magic item upgrader mod at one time. If an upgrade project is canceled, no further upgrades will be made for the item. Upgraded magic items cost twice as much gold to make or purchase, but they can provide other benefits.

A magical item is any item upgrader kit that has special properties or effects. Most of these items are weapons, but some are also armor, shields as well as cloaks, potions rings, scrolls, and other items. Certain of these items can be made to speak.

Most magical items can be upgraded so that they are enhanced with new abilities. This makes them more useful to a player or help them overcome a difficult encounter. A weapon infused with some special substance could, for instance, provide extra damage against a certain type of enemy. This is especially useful for characters who have reached the point where they're likely to encounter a particular type of monster repeatedly in Dungeons.

A ring that is infused can grant the ability to resist piercing, bludgeoning or slashing damages from nonmagical attacks (not even silvered ones) until the next time the character takes a lengthy rest. This is especially beneficial for combatants who are melee, or any character who wishes to avoid the expense and hassle of buying an armor.

Certain enchanted objects possess special abilities that allow the character to cast spells that are not on their list of classes. This is useful for those who are having trouble filling their spell slots because of multiclassing. These enchanted items generally require an Intelligence (Arcana) check prior to use, and the spell cast is determined by rolling an array of tables determined by the number of Intelligence points spent.

Other items that can be enchanted may allow the user to alter their appearance, or create a new one. These items are especially useful for characters who have been forced to leave their home, or are in a place where they may not be accepted. An item that is magical can give them an invisible effect, or even make them invisible to everyone but a select few.

Utility Items

Utility items are those that do not fall under the categories of clothing, armor or Weapons and offer a range of different capabilities. Utility items aren't compatible with each other, unlike weapons or armor. Most utility items provide a passive effect that the player can activate when using them, however, some come with additional capabilities that are triggered when the user presses the button or activates a skill.

The Flashlight is the most popular accessory. It illuminates the surrounding area. Other items of utility include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow the player to be floating in the air while they move, and the Jetpack which allows the player to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. In the Engineering section you can create instantly a variety of utility items, while others are available only through research projects or experimental projects on the Proving Ground.

In addition to the items that are available in the standard inventory, players can unlock additional powerful utility items by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Some of these items are upgradeable for more effective use.

Most utility items give players an advantage in navigation or boost the effectiveness of a particular combat skill. Sharpening stones, made by an Weaponsmith can boost power and Ferocity. Maintenance Oils, made by an Huntsman, increase Concentration and healing power. Other items that are useful can be used by players to boost Damage or Condition Damage.

XCOM soldiers can equip a single utilitarian item to begin the campaign. An additional slot is available after the completion of certain engineering, research, or research projects on the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are created by equipping the Grenade Launcher, which lets the player equip a Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot, while an offensive grenade is placed in the main grenade slot.
